The Greater Prince William Community Health Center (GPWCHC) serves Prince William County and the Cities of Manassas and Manassas Park in Northern Virginia. The Health Center was incorporated in 2004 and started seeing patients in November 2006 to satisfy the unmet health care needs of the area.
Federally Qualified Health Center status was awarded to GPWCHC in March 2009. This honor means that the federal government will actively help the Health Center increase and improve its services. Representative Gerald E. Connolly of Virginia’s 11th district worked closely with the Health Center’s Executive Director, Frank Principi, to receive this status. Being a Federally Qualified Health Center means our GPWCHC has more resources and technical support, which directly benefits those we serve.
Demographics of patients are very diverse. The Health Center serves both the local insured and uninsured populations. A goal we constantly work towards is to grant every community member access to a top quality facility. Every aspect of our services – from our staff’s extensive experience to the waiting room equipped with a flat screen TV and free wireless internet – is continuously evaluated for possible improvements.
Most importantly, the staff beliefs in the mission of the Health Center and their values clearly show in their work. Helping someone get an appointment to see a specialist for an essential procedure or helping people find a way to pay for their prescriptions are tasks our staff dedicates extra time to daily. Part of being a patient of GPWCHC is having an advocate for all of your health related needs.
